HP Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) is a powder bed fusion technology that produces highly accurate, dense, and durable nylon parts at production speeds. Unlike traditional laser sintering that traces each layer with a single beam, MJF uses inkjet arrays to deposit fusing and detailing agents across the entire build area in a single pass.
This approach enables MJF to print multiple parts simultaneously at speeds up to 10 times faster than selective laser sintering (SLS), while delivering excellent surface quality and consistent mechanical properties.
MJF is ideal for functional prototyping, bridge production, and low-to-medium volume manufacturing where the cost of injection mold tooling isn't justified. Parts can be printed, finished, and shipped in as fast as one business day.
HP-certified materials optimized for consistent properties and high powder reusability.
High reusability nylon with balanced mechanical properties
General purpose, functional prototypes, production parts
Bio-based nylon with higher ductility and impact resistance
Impact-resistant parts, living hinges, snap-fits
40% glass bead reinforcement for increased stiffness
Structural parts, high-stiffness applications
Chemical resistant with excellent fatigue properties
Chemical containers, automotive, living hinges
Elastomeric material for flexible and rubber-like parts

Transform MJF parts with an exceptional surface finish through automated vapor smoothing. This batch-based process creates a uniform, sealed surface with a semi-gloss appearance that rivals injection molded parts.
From rapid prototyping to direct digital manufacturing at scale.
Create detailed, durable physical models for design reviews and stakeholder presentations with excellent surface quality.
Build fully-functional prototypes with snap-fits, living hinges, and moving assemblies for real-world testing.
Manufacture end-use parts at scale with consistent quality and mechanical properties approaching injection molding.
Why engineers choose Multi Jet Fusion for functional parts and production.
Optimized build parameters produce fully dense parts that are inherently watertight without post-processing.
Full-bed jetting technology prints entire layers at once, enabling production speeds far exceeding traditional laser sintering.
More isotropic mechanical properties across X, Y, and Z axes compared to other powder bed fusion processes.
80-micron layer resolution enables sharp edges, crisp text, and intricate geometric details.
Low per-part costs make MJF ideal for bridge production runs and low-to-medium volume manufacturing.
Unfused powder supports parts during the build, enabling complex geometries without support removal.
